Hit the Road Running for a chance to win thousands of dollars for your favorite school or school program! Nominate your school on your race entry form and your school can win in two ways – Race Proceeds or through the School Competition.
All registrants have a chance to earn a cash prize for their favorite educational institution.
All schools nominated are eligible to be picked as Proceeds Winners in a post-race random drawing.
Top three schools or educational institutions nominated will each win a School Competition Prize: $1,000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd.
Early packet pick-up: Thursday, September 12 at Playmakers, 2299 W. Grand River, Okemos from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Regular packet pick-up: Saturday, September 14 at the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the Healthy and Fit Expo, and on Sunday, September 16 from 7:00 to 8:15 a.m.
Special awards go to top male and female open, masters, and grandmasters finishers in 5K race. Age group awards go three deep in the 5K for 13 & under, 14-19, and then in 5 year increments going as high as necessary. Competitive race walkers are welcome to participate, but will not be considered a separate division.
We will be using tag timing for the 5K event. Runners will be given a timing tag with instructions for use. An electronic mat at the start and finish lines will record times as runners complete the race. Timing tags are disposable.
The 5K Race will start in front of Cooley Law School Stadium, 505 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912. The Finish will be in nearby Adado Riverfront Park.
